Rhythm of Stars

from Glyph Pickers by Justin Potts

/

about

This song had it's start around 2010 when David Volker, then drumming for our mutual band, Terwilliger Curves, came over and I asked him to play improvised drums and I recorded it. Then, I had him drum again while listening to his first track and then to play shakers over it. I took these tracks, edited and added keys and guitars. It stayed in that state until 2018 when I finally dusted it off and recorded vocals for it. The melody had been in my head for years so it felt great to finally finish it. The drums were too good to not use!

lyrics

Rhythm of Stars

Just past the wall, in a formless frame
photon receivers fill the fountains for a new day
a hyper-scopic view, a you zoo review
elemental meaning in terms of what has always been true

countless points in a milky abandon
gazing up at a shower of photons in love

you've the rhythm of stars
you, yeah you, you've the rhythm of stars

here's your finding song, here's your golden flame
take a breath of reason, and ride a raven's wing to owl cave
the inner far beyond, your finger's magic wand
the overwhelming feeling of full immersion in the always

countless points in a milky abandon
gazing up at a shower of photons in love

you've the rhythm of stars
you, yeah you, you've the rhythm of stars

*breakdown into mystery lyrics*

you've the rhythm of stars
you, yeah you, you've the rhythm of stars
